A curated women’s group trip to Morocco

In January, I brought a dream to life.

I led my very first Privé curated group trip, gathering a circle of accomplished professional women who deserved something more than a vacation…they deserved a real break. A real experience. Space to exhale. And the kind of joy that only comes from stepping fully into a new place.

Seven of us traveled across Morocco for just over a week, layering the journey exactly as I love to do.

We began in the Atlas Mountains at Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s breathtaking retreat perched above the valleys. It is every bit as magical as you imagine. We were welcomed with homemade bread and mint tea, met extraordinary local artisans and musicians, and woke each morning to views that felt almost cinematic. It is, without question, one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine.

From there, we ventured into the rocky desert at Caravan Agafay. Camels at sunset. Tagine cooking with a local chef. Laughter that echoed across the landscape. And perhaps our favorite detail of all — hot water bottles tucked into our tents each night, a small but perfect touch of care (also, needed).

We ended in the vibrant energy of Marrakech at Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial, steps from the souks and medina.

And then there were the experiences.

We floated above the desert at sunrise in hot air balloons, watching the light spill across the landscape. We climbed into vintage motorcycle sidecars and zipped through Marrakech’s narrow Medina, seeing the city from an entirely new perspective. With trusted local guides, we navigated the souks with confidence, learning the stories behind the craftsmanship, meeting makers, and understanding the rhythm of daily life. We sampled local street food tucked into tiny corners most visitors would never find. And we wandered through the iconic cobalt blues of Jardin Majorelle — one of Marrakech’s most beloved landmarks — pausing to take it all in.

We did it all. The unanimous verdict? Success.

Women who arrived as acquaintances left as friends. Minds expanded. Shoulders dropped. Joy rediscovered.
