I’m writing this as I fly home from New Orleans – my final trip of the year – feeling equal parts grateful and inspired.

This visit was a FAM (familiarization trip) hosted by The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, and while I’ve been to the city many times before, this experience gave me a fresh look. That’s the point of a well-designed FAM: understanding a destination and a property so I can recommend it with confidence… and nuance.
The Ritz-Carlton made sure we experienced New Orleans in a way that went well beyond the obvious. We wandered on ghost tours that peeled back the city’s layered history (and will haunt my dreams for weeks to come), followed the rhythm of our very talented musical guides on jazz walks, explored extraordinary art and antiques, slowed down with a spa visit, and, because this is New Orleans, enjoyed more than our fair share of beignets along the way.
What I came away with is a deeper appreciation for how this hotel anchors you in the heart of the French Quarter while still offering that signature Ritz experience. It’s exactly the kind of place where the right touches — timing, introductions, thoughtful perks — make all the difference.
In fact, I’m already putting that firsthand knowledge to work. I have five Privé clients staying at this very Ritz-Carlton this weekend, enjoying all the benefits that come with booking through me: daily breakfast, a $100 hotel credit, and five-star VIP treatment from arrival to departure.
Trips like this are why I do what I do. The behind-the-scenes access, the relationships, the details you don’t find online…they’re what allow me to design travel that feels effortless, elevated, and just a little bit special.

As 2025 comes to a close, I’m so thankful for the clients who trusted me, the partners who opened their doors, and the journeys that reminded me why travel done well is such a gift.
